On January 19, 2017, Avaya Inc., a major technology company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States. As Avaya is set to undergo reorganization and restructuring, uncertainties abound for its customers and prospects in the United States. What happened to Avaya?

Avaya has long been a major player in internet telephony. Over the past decade, the company took on a large amount of debt from acquisitions.
